The Commonwealth's SME Export Hubs Grant Program

The Commonwealth has opened applications for grants worth up to $1.5 million in the export hub space. 

The SME Export Hubs grant program is a Commonwealth initiative to support the growth of export hubs across the six Commonwealth Growth Centre sectors:

  • Advanced Manufacturing, Cyber Security Food and Agribusiness,
  • Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals,
  • Mining Equipment,
  • Technology and Services Oil,
  • Gas and Energy Services

 

This is a program that is purposed to enhance cooperation and collaboration across SME networks in fulfilling commercial objectives, strengthen the growth of SME’s through the development of collective brands and in leveraging regional infrastructure and to increase local capability in the export space. Eligible grants range from $150,000 to $1.5 million for successful applicants.

To be participating in the export hub category, you will be involved in one or a number of related activities. These include

  • Directly establishing or operating an export hub that enhances SME export capabilities
  • Providing workshops, seminars and other events to increase SME knowledge regarding business management, workforce skills development, collaboration, innovation and export market development
  • Designing and executing export strategies that involve the capabilities and potentials of SME’s Identifying emerging market needs in order to orientate industry-research collaboration to address the market needs
  • Researching and delivering market intelligence regarding opportunities for SME’s to access global supply chains
  • Other activities as per appropriate (pending enquiry)
